What to expect
Hopefully, the following will answer most of your questions. Please call or text if you need more information or have any concerns. At your first appointment, you fill out health intake forms. Then, we take time to talk about what you want and need from your session(s) while you enjoy a foot soak.
*For all sessions you remain clothed. Please don’t wear a hoodie, necklace or big earrings for face massage, facial or face reflexology. It’s best to wear shorts or pants that can be rolled up to your knees for foot massage or reflexology. For hand reflexology you will need to remove your watch and/or bracelets. (I can work around rings that don’t come off).
What is Reflexology?
This natural therapy induces deep relaxation. Your feet and hands have many reflexes which correlate, via neural pathways, to the entire body. Reflexology techniques stimulate these reflexes to nurture self healing and balance. Especially, it reduces bodily tension and increases circulation to boost overall health and vitality. It can also help with foot or hand swelling, tension and soreness. Sessions are custom tailored to your specific needs of the day.
How often should you get sessions?
Every body is different. Initially, we recommend sessions more often to address more concerning symptoms. In general, we suggest once a week for 4 to 6 weeks to favor healing, followed by once or twice a month to maintain a higher level of whole body health.
What does your Reflexology session look like?
You may choose the heated massage table or comfy recliner. We provide a cozy blanket and luxurious foot soak. For foot reflexology, you will remove your socks. The reflexology therapist will use her hands, thumbs and fingers to apply pressure to reflexes on each foot or hand. We work a little extra on any congested areas. Water is provided. Spa music will be played or you may choose silence. Essential oils will be diffused, if desired. I suggest that you close your eyes and relax quietly. About 90% of my clients take a nap. Yes, it is that relaxing.
Can I claim Reflexology on my insurance?
Not all Extended Health Insurance Plans are the same. Please contact your insurance provider to find out what’s covered. Also, check what your yearly limit is. I am R.A.C. certified. I will provide a receipt with my RCRT certification number. It is your responsibility to submit your receipt. Some insurance companies only give coverage with enhanced, advanced, or extended coverage policies. Some companies allow reflexology to be covered under acupressure.
Sometimes you shouldn’t have Reflexology.
It’s not for anyone who has DVT, which is a blood clotting disorder. If in doubt about receiving reflexology please discuss it with your doctor. When you’re pregnant, I like to wait until you have your 3 month check up results showing everything is going well. Anyone receiving radiation treatments please wait at least one month before booking. Please wait a week after chemotherapy. After any surgery or injury please get the go ahead from your doctor. Please wait until any fracture or wound in the area of treatment has healed. In the case of plantar warts, toenail fungus or athletes foot please clear it up with your doctor prior to your appointment. Pharmacists can let you know about some effective over the counter treatments too.
Rejuvenating Face Massage explained.
Face massage draws on the wisdom of many different healing modalities, such as acupressure, Champissage, reflexology and lymphatic drainage. It’s not a facial. No products are used. This is a wonderful, gentle massage with techniques for the face, scalp, neck and shoulders. Great for men and women alike. It helps calm the mind, body and spirit. It gives many benefits for the face such as increasing circulation, moving lymph and relaxing muscles that cause stress lines. Also aids in the production of collagen and elastin for toning and tightening. Book often to promote a fresh, relaxed and well rested look. We provide a space of tranquility so you can feel rejuvenated, clear-minded and energized. Leave with a glow. The deep relaxation achieved improves health.
Will insurance cover Rejuvenating Face Massage?
I am a reflexology therapist and not a registered massage therapist so if your insurance will only cover RMT’s then unfortunately this will not be covered. However, I am certified in Rejuvenating Face Massage and some companies may allow claims under health spending.
Some cautions before Rejuvenating Face Massage
If you have Epilepsy, have had recent whiplash or unresolved pain from whiplash, concussion, serious neck problems, recent stroke, cancer, recent surgery or have DVT you should not have Face Massage. When in doubt please obtain a doctor’s approval. As well, you should wait at least 30 days after Botox. Ask your Botox provider first. If you are prone to migraines please be aware that this massage may trigger a migraine, but, usually it is of lesser duration and lesser intensity. After a number of sessions, this massage may be beneficial at reducing stress headaches and migraines, depending on their cause. Additionally, anyone with recent face fillers may not wish to disturb them.
What is Ayurvedic Foot Massage?
For this session we use organic oils, our hands, and a bronze Kansa bowl on the feet and lower legs. Marma energy points are stimulated using circular motions. It’s great for sore feet, tired legs and dry skin. The techniques used are designed to create balance, relieve tension, detoxify, increase circulation, boost the immune system and help the mind and body to revitalize, relax and heal.
When not to have an Ayurvedic Foot Massage

Pharmacists can let you know about some effective over the counter treatments. Please don’t eat a heavy meal before your session.

What’s the difference between the Glow Facial and the Luxury Dien Chan Facial?
The Glow Facial is 65 minutes while the Luxury Dien Chan Facial is 90 minutes. Both are super relaxing and we use the same wonderful organic, botanical products. The Glow Facial allows time for scalp massage and the general rolling of zones of the face. The Luxury Dien Chan Facial includes some body work and more in depth use of the Multireflex tools for plumping out wrinkles and addressing blockages within body systems. BQC points on the face reflect to specific organs and body parts. We work these points for whole body wellness.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes! You can help someone discover deep relaxation, improved sleep and better health with the gift of a reflexology session. Or, help someone to enjoy a mental reset and fresh face with a rejuvenating face massage. For an extra special treat we now also offer 90 minute combination sessions. It’s easy to purchase a Gift Card from the web site through Square. Gift certificates are also available on site. Please call/text if you wish to purchase a physical gift certificate. You can e-transfer me and I can mail the gift certificate. To receive it faster, I can send you a digital picture of the certificate which you can forward to the recipient via text or email.
Recommendations
Please wear comfortable clothes and socks. Keep yourself well hydrated with herbal tea or water. For Foot massage, please wear shorts or pants that can be rolled up to the knee. For Face massage, please do not wear jewelry or a hoodie. Before hand reflexology, please remove your watch and/or bracelets. It’s best not to eat a large, heavy meal right before or after a session. Cell phone use during any session is strongly discouraged as it may reduce the effectiveness of the therapy.
Cancellation Policy of Azure Sky Reflexology
We respectfully request at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule any appointment. We prefer 48 hours notice. Please note that once an appointment is booked, unless we hear otherwise, we expect you to be there. Exception, if you are contagious, have the flu, have a high fever or rash, we prefer you to reschedule for another time. We allow one missed appointment with less than 24 hours notice. After that a $25 + GST cancellation fee will be applied to your next appointment. No show fee is $25 + GST.
Late Policy
Please arrive on time to allow a pleasant check in. As a courtesy to the next guest, should you arrive late, your appointment may end as scheduled. We clean between clients. Please don’t arrive more than 10 minutes early.
Payments
We accept Cash, Debit tap, Debit chip, Visa and Mastercard and e-transfer. Payment is expected after the session.
Referrals
Thank you! Referrals are a great compliment. You will each receive a $10 discount on your next session. The referred person needs to put your name on their intake form. Limited to one discount per session. For example, minimum price for a 60 minute session is $75 plus GST.
